about me (and this website)

Hello!! I'm Daisy (she/they) (pictured on the right)—a 21 year old tgirl lesbian (mostly) from California. I'm currently a college student getting my bachelor's degree in political science, with a minor in chicano studies. I like to write about life, politics, philosophy, being queer, and also love reviewing movies and books I've read. Stick around if you like hearing a grossly unqualified person ramble about things which are way less important than she makes them seem.

I made this website at the start of 2024 in order to fill the gaping hole in my life. It didn't really work, so now I have a gaping hole and a website. My coding knowledge isn't very good at all, so I'm working off a template—I like to think the main appeal of the site is my writing, not the way it looks. Despite that, I'll always try to make it look at least readable, and hopefully it doesn't look too bad.

The daily brutalities and microfacisms of life under capitalism—which we have become so accustomed to—have transformed what should be an imposed disdain for the inefficient into a guiding light. This way of being has remagnetized my soul into a compass deadset on a polestar—the act of creation and fulfilling desire. Survival is insufficient. It is not enough to live, so I read books, and write essays, and make music, and create shitty poetry. And most of all, I share it here with you, because individualism and privatism is stupid, and I want every cool and decent person to know what I'm up to.
